Penelitian Membuktikan, Pria Lebih Susah Move On daripada Perempuan

Bicara tentang cara menerima perpisahan dalam hubungan cinta, banyak orang mengira bahwa perempuan lebih susah untuk move on dari hubungan cinta yang kandas daripada pria.

Tapi ternyata anggapan itu salah. Sebuah penelitian yang diterbitkan dalam SAGE Journals dengan judul Personality at Midlife: Stability, Intrinsic Maturation, and Response to Life Events menemukan bahwa pria ternyata memiliki kecenderungan lebih susah melupakan hubungan cinta masa lalunya ketimbang perempuan.

Peneliti mencoba menilai keadaan emosional 2.000 pria dan perempuan yang bercerai lalu mengunjungi mereka lagi setelah 6-9 tahun kemudian, ternyata hasilnya mengejutkan. Pria cenderung tidak bisa melupakan hubungan masa lalunya dengan baik, terutama mantan yang memberi kenangan paling mendalam.

Memang benar, perempuan merasa sangat terpukul dan terjatuh di awal perpisahan dan butuh waktu bertahap sehingga bisa menyembuhkan luka. Berbeda dengan pria yang justru merasa lega, bebas dan bahkan bahagia di awal perpisahan namun lambat laun akan merasa kehilangan dan lebih susah melepaskan kenangan seiring berjalannya waktu.

Peneliti bahkan menunjukkan bahwa para perempuan dalam penelitian tersebut justru menjadi lebih ekstrover (ceria, sosial dan terbuka) pada tahun-tahun setelah perceraian dibandingkan para pria yang terbukti merasa lebih tidak stabil secara emosional setelah perceraian.

Mereka lebih susah melupakan mantannya ketimbang perempuan. Terutama mantan yang memberikan kenangan paling mendalam. Pria pada awalnya mungkin merasa lega dan bebas, tapi lambat laun ia akan merasa kehilangan dan susah melupakan.
