Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Nyamuk Aedes aegypti penyebab demam berdarah dengue (DBD) kian mengamuk.
Lantas, bagaimana ciri-ciri nyamuk penyebab DBD?
Kasus demam berdarah di Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan. Data dari Kementerian Kesehatan menemukan lebih dari 62 ribu kasus DBD sepanjang 15 pekan pertama tahun 2024. Jumlah ini hampir tiga kali lipat dari kasus DBD pada periode yang sama di tahun 2023 lalu.
Penyakit demam berdarah ditularkan oleh nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Umumnya, virus akan dibawa oleh nyamuk betina (dominan).
Virus akan berpindah melalui gigitan nyamuk di kulit manusia. Biasanya, virus akan mengalami masa inkubasi selama 4-10 hari sebelum tubuh menimbulkan gejala infeksi.
Ciri-ciri nyamuk penyebab DBD
Menyitat laman Dinas Kesehatan Depok, ada beberapa ciri umum dari nyamuk Aedes aegypti yang bisa menularkan virus demam berdarah. Berikut ciri-ciri nyamuk penyebab DBD.
1. Corak warna
Nyamuk umumnya berwarna gelap dan akan menjadi merah di bagian perut setelah berhasil menghisap darah manusia.
Namun, hal yang berbeda akan ditemukan dalam nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Nyamuk penyebab DBD berwarna hitam dengan bercak putih pada bagian badan dan kaki.
2. Tinggal di rumah
Nyamuk, termasuk Aedes aegypti, senang bersarang di area-area tertentu di rumah. Mereka senang hidup dan berkembang biak di dalam rumah dan sekitarnya.
3. Lebih kecil
Menukil laman Siloam Hospital, nyamuk demam berdarah memiliki ukuran yang jauh lebih kecil jika dibandingkan dengan nyamuk lainnya. Tapi, walau kecil, nyamuk ini membawa virus yang berbahaya untuk manusia.
4. Memiliki waktu aktif berbeda
Nyamuk ini aktif di jam-jam tertentu, terutama di pagi dan sore hari. Nyamuk akan aktif menggigit dua jam setelah matahari terbit dan dua jam setelah matahari terbenam.
5. Suka tempat basah
Nyamuk jenis ini senang tinggal di tempat-tempat basah.Misalnya, kamar mandi atau dapur.

Never give up in life. They all say no cure to HSV 2 (genital herpes) which is a big lie.
